Western Potatoes Limited was created during 2004 in response to government restructuring of the West Australian potato industry. The principle behind Western Potatoes Limited is to create a more streamlined, efficient potato industry for Western Australians. Western Potatoes core business can be divided into —domestic marketing, export, value-adding and intellectual property (Plant Breeders Rights).
KIS Publishing works closely with Western potatoes on much of its consumer-focussed publications and promotional material and has recently developed an educational pack for primary schools to raise the awareness of potatoes as an important part of a balanced diet.
