DAFWA’s Small Landholder Information Service (SLIS) provides support to new may not have the knowledge, contacts or equipment they need to embark upon their new adventure. The support provided by the SLIS includes an enquiry service as well as organising field days and workshops to help you develop the skills and contacts you need. KIS Publishing support SLIS through the collaborative development of Noteworthy fact sheets that provide a concise source of information on a wide range of topics. The experience of the KIS team in presenting technical information for a non-technical audience have proven critical to the success of this long-term relationship with the SLIS. |

Fuel calculator

KIS Publishing worked with DAFWA’s grains division to develop an innovative tool — the Farm Fuel Calculator. The CD enables farmers to easily evaluate and compare the fuel use associated with different crop and animal management practices. The KGITraining team also worked alongside DAFWA to deliver regional workshops showcasing the Fuel Calculator. |

Western Australian NLIS Implementation Working Group

KIS worked with DAFWA’s NLIS Implementation Working Group to produce the Better beef with NLIS manual. The manual assisted beef producers to maximise with on-farm examples of how producers are using NLIS in their on-farm management and tips on how to improve maximise the benefits of the NLIS.
